The intention of IMUNE is to support the development of education and educational standards in natural medicine, both through IMUNE and by collaboration with other educational organizations. IMUNE perceives that the more credibility and exposure that educational organizations can bring to Natural Medicine the better is the opportunity to ensure its place in the health world.
IMUNE believes that more can be achieved in concert than as discrete bodies acting in isolation. It is especially important to establish standards of excellence for natural Medicine practise. In this it is the intention to maintain the essential autonomy of existing organisations but gain mutual enhancement by dialogue and co-operation.
IMUNE thus wishes to explore mutual accreditation whereby after mutual review each organisation will accredit the other.
- IMUNE is currently accredited with the following Accreditation Bodies:
IMEAS (The International Medical Education Accreditation Service)
- IMUNE is currently accredited with the following Education Providers:
IQBNM (Institute of Quantum Biofeedback Naturopathic Medicine)
The Quantum Center of Excellence
The Quantum Academy
Principles
The primary elements of mutual accreditation are:
- Ethics criteria for trainers, students, graduates, organisations
- Course integrity
- Assessment process and integrity
- Disclosure and conflict of interest declarations.
- Mutual Confidentiality
- Each organisation will hold any information provided by the other as confidential.
- Each organisation will have the right to audit the other.
When implemented this means:
- The Educational Institutes will be able to state in their information this mutual accreditation. This is in essence a general accreditation that recognises equivalence in general standards of education and integrity of operation. It includes that in principle courses and by specific arrangement assessments conducted by one are accepted as equivalent by the other. This is equivalent to a degree issued by one university being accepted in principle by another as a valid qualification with the rights (e.g. entry to higher degree courses) that would normally be associated.
- Students of one establishment will be able to use education (course and assessments) to apply for the qualification issued by the other by presentation of relevant documentation and payment of the applicable processing fee.
Specifics
- Specific courses that are common in scope (e.g. Biofeedback) need to include the same educational elements and topics to be cross credited. Specific courses/modules may include more than this.
- Assessments by one body will be accepted by the other on the basis that they have similar integrity.
- Education taken for CEU’s will be able to be cross accredited based on mutually agreed criteria.
- Each organisation may charge at its discretion a reasonable fee for processing cross accreditation applications from students and issuance of the relevant qualification and record documentation.
- Specifically organisations may offer courses that contain IMUNE course elements but in a different order, timeframe etc. For example IMUNE operates various qualification levels which may all be present in one course offered by another organisation. Homeopathy may be offered as a continuous course by College A where IMUNE offers Level 1, 2, 3. Provided the IMUNE course content is covered then IMUNE will accept this as qualifying for levels 1, 2, 3. This principle will also apply in reverse.
- In the absence of defined criteria IMUNE syllabus, examination processes etc. will apply.
The Process
- Request to proceed in principle.
- Mutual submission of:
a. Structure
b. Courses operated
c. Courses and syllabus for which specific cross accreditation is required.
d. Assessments operated
e. Fee structure
- Agreement of what qualification each others courses etc. are accepted for.
- Agreement on the process for amendments.
- Agreement of timescale (2-3 year period) and review points (annual)
- Agreement on the documentation of Accreditation.
IMUNE Specific Criteria
IMUNE has established initially the following elements that can be considered as a platform for accreditation.
- Any course relevant to Natural Medicine will be considered.
- Any teacher of a course that involves the use of a device must have fulfilled
the manufacturer’s requirements for teaching the device technical operation and clinical application. If such manufacturers requirements do not formally exist then a statement of authorisation from the manufacturer is required.
Note in particular that IMUNE will not accredit courses that involve illegal devices. Specifically trainer certification has been established by the manufacturer of the SCIO-EPFX-QXCI.
- Each organisation will implement and operate a feedback system for courses and trainers.
- Each organisation will review and subscribe to the ethics requirements of the other as applies to the organisation, trainers, course operation and students/graduates.
Specific Current Courses available for Immediate Cross
Accreditation for IMUNE Qualifications.
- NBCB Examination for Conscious feedback element of the IMUNE Biofeedback Qualification (Note that the additional element is unconscious biofeedback)
- Computer Operation
- Anatomy and Physiology
- First Aid and CPR
- Technical Competence.
CEU’s
IMUNE accepts Natural Medicine seminar and course attendance for continuing education credits for students to maintain their International Licenses on
a one credit per hour basis provided that each hour credit is educational and has
no sales promotion content.
IMUNE Qualifications
For information IMUNE currently issues the following qualifications:
- Study certificates: certificates of Module or Course Completion
(for CEU or educational reference)
- Technical Competence Certificates enabling operation is basic stress reduction.
- Technician Certificates ( reflecting technical knowledge and where further health study is required for therapist and practitioner qualifications)
- International Licenses reflecting expertise in Natural Medicine knowledge and application.
It is the intent of IMUNE to issue higher degrees and establish a process sin
2007 for this.
